For example, this course is well suited for those who are already or are preparing to be in a care role and who wish to develop specialist knowledge in relation to medication handling and administration.
The course focuses on several areas around medication in the care setting, such as different medication types and processes, principles of handling medication and principles of administrating medication.
The training session is a full day. At the end of the session, you will receive a workbook to complete at home and return to us in a timely manner. Please note that completion of the workbook is a requirement for obtaining the Certificate.
Costs and funding
This course is free for all eligible learners, because we have received funding that enables us to offer certain courses at no cost. Moreover, employers may be able to claim associated costs up to £300 for this course from the Workforce Development Fund (WDF) on successful completion of the Certificate.
In order to be eligible for free participation,
the employer must be an ‘SME’ (Small or Medium sized Enterprise) with less than 250 employees and turnover of less than € 50 million (EURO).
the learner can only attend one free course within our funding contract, although ‘progressions’ to a higher-level course may be possible.
In our experience the majority of learners qualify for free participation, so please contact us to check whether your organisation or learner is eligible – it would be a shame to miss out.
Learners who are not eligible can still participate in the course for free; however, if you want to obtain the Certificate you will have to pay a registration and assessment fee (£90 + VAT).
