What is a Diploma?

A Diploma is a work based training programme that supports individuals to gain valuable skills. A diploma is made up from mandatory and optional units. Diplomas can be used to up-skill employees, support with the development of future team leaders, managers and senior staff. 

Diplomas can be funded in a number of different ways.

  • Self funded - Self funded diplomas are funded by learners. Prices vary depending on the support needed and level of the qualification.

  • Employer funded - Designed around your business needs Diplomas can be tailored to your organisation. Prices vary depending on the support needed and level of the qualification.

  • Apprenticeship funded - Diplomas form one of the component parts of an Apprenticeship so can be funded this way. Our Apprenticeship Section has further information. 

  • Other funding sources - Funding is sometimes available but in all cases you must fall within certain eligibility requirements, our team would be happy to support you with any questions you may have. 

Qualification Changes

The qualifications have now changed from NVQ's (National Vocational Qualifications) to QCF'S (Qualification Credit Framework) to RQF's (Regulated Qualifications Framework), these have been redesigned for the Adult Care Sector. 

  • Adult Care Worker - Level 2 diploma aimed at all front line care staff.

  • Lead Adult Care Worker - Level 3 diploma used as a progression from level 2 or for those in a senior or supervisory role

  • Lead Practitioner in Adult Care - Level 4 diploma, a new qualification  used as a progression route from level 3 or for senior staff who are still practising.

  • Leader in Adult Care - Level 5 diploma, aimed towards those in Management and Senior roles.

  • If not part of an Apprenticeship, no Maths or English, off the job commitment or end point assessment required. 

Further funding support
